I've been working on a similiar project, which included building a bunch of smaller sites that rank for certain keywords. It does seem to be the best way, since it does require less work on each site since you don't have to rank for super competitive keywords.

The truth is, moving from position number 3 to position number 1 brings a BIG change to the traffic you get. I'm telling this from personal experience.

intresting, I have never heard of the premise "beating google". However, I like the idealogy behind it. It seems that Google can be very picky at times, and it seems there is no real logic as to what ranks and what doesn't.

i have seen sites with a small amount of backlinks rank high then sites with hundreds of relevent ones. Google seems to become more and more of a mystery everytime they update it.

It is still better than Bing which is just garbage.

i am going to look at steps to follow and give them a try. Thanks for the info.

I really like the idea of owning 100 sites that all make $1 dollar a day. It makes things seem so much more achievable that way. This is my mentality and business model and I'm going to follow it to success.

I don't know if I agree when you say you can 'beat Google'. I think SEO is about working with Google and the other search engines. At the end of the day they want to present their customers (the searchers) with the best results possible.

The best results are sites with lots of fresh, unique content. People love up to date content, which is why Google loves it too. You need to work with what Google want from a site - sure tweak it so that they know exactly what kind of search query your site is relevant for. But at the end of the day SEO is about creating a user friend/search engine friendly site. Not about screwing over Google!

Hundred dollars a day from a hundred sites. Seems like a lot of work. Are you sure there isn't an easier way to make money? I might start selling drugs.

This looks very good on paper but I don't think it works very well in the real world.
From my perspective, I think it is easier to build 3 to 5 strong sites rather than 100 sites.
It takes just too much time to manage them.
